DTA was formed in the Fall of 1999 by Shane Mott. His interest in technology began as a young man when his mother bought him his first computer, a Commodore 64 with a cassette tape drive that served as memory and storage :-) Shane's computing skills continued to grow and improve as he received formal training in High School, on weekends and years later at several colleges and technical institutions throughout the United States. More extensive education and experience was gained during his six years in the U.S. Army and Coast Guard. In addition, he's been privileged to serve in many exciting roles such as supporting the technology resources of the U.S. Coast Guard's Electronic Engineering Center, a then elite, state-of-the-art facility; coordinating the efforts of several large international companies as the Assistant Manager of Technology for the Olympic Village while working for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) during the Centennial Olympics of 1996; and as a member of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) team at the Georgia Institute of Technology. For the first several years of operation, DTA did it all. In addition to the services we currently offer, we provided everything from physical layer cabling to data room design and build-out; hardware & software provisioning; custom programming; networking; telecommunications; general PC maintenance; hosting & DNS services; Building, LAN and Internet Security; and anything else that was electronic or technology related. As we grew, we begin to better understand our business and identified the need to narrow our scope of services. Therefore, we decided to refine our offerings and focus on a few of our strongest core competencies. Although we wanted to be everything to everyone, and we were good at it, offering such a broad array of very diverse services became too hectic to sustain after several years. We just weren't having fun anymore :-) After realizing over the past nine years that we were spending the majority of our time getting the offerings of small businesses on-line and noticed, it became a natural choice to move in that direction, providing the suite of services we offer today. |
